Raymond T. Forsythe

Funeral services for Raymond T. Forsythe, 80, of Lufkin, Texas, will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Elder Bobby R. Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mr. Forsythe was born November 13, 1932 in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Willard E. and Roberta Franklin Forsythe. He died Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Hospice in the Pines at Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Forsythe was retired from Texas Foundry after 47 years of employment, and served his country in the U.S. Army as a medic for 2 years during the Korean conflict. Mr. Forsythe had been a member of The Pleasant Grove Congregational Methodist Church for over 65 years.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Stoker Forsythe; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Doc Cole of Houston, Ramona and Dwayne Howell of Lufkin; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Troy and Autumn Manchaca, Maddox, Sadie, Darynn and Raymond of Clear Lake, TX, Amanda and Eric Miears, Madison and Nathan of Cypress, TX, Shannon Howell of Houston, Lauren and Matt Brazil, Paige and Claire of Lufkin, Jake and Ashley Manchaca, Brayden and Benjamin of Richmond; brother and sister-in-law, Pete and Sylvia Forsythe; sisters-in-law; Rose Ella Forsythe, Myrtice Forsythe, Bobbie Stoker Burkhalter; Kay Stoker Davis, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Louise and George Rowe; nieces and nephews, Chet Davis, Les Burkhalter, Dwain Forsythe, Gerald Forsythe, Eula Forsythe, David Forsythe, Mike Forsythe, Keith Forsythe, Reba Crager, Gary Rowe, Thomas Rowe, Regina Bridges, Wendell Forsythe, Cary Forsythe, Brent Forsythe, Vonda Bearden, Travis Forsythe and Darenda Mullins.

Preceding Mr. Forsythe in death were his father, Willard E. Forsythe; mother, Ella Roberta Forsythe; brothers, Richard Forsythe, Kenneth Forsythe, Robert Forsythe, Bill Forsythe; sister-in-law, Violet Forsythe; niece, Melva Darlene Forsythe; nephews, Daryl Forsythe and Jeff Davis; and brothers-in-law, Ray Burkhalter and Leo Davis.

Pallbearers will be Troy Manchaca, Jake Manchaca, Dwayne Howell, Les Burkhalter, Chet Davis, Gerald Forsythe, Keith Forsythe, and Danny Bridges.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Doc Cole, Eric Miears, Matt Brazil, Wayne Forsythe, Cliff Snyder, Robert Luna, David Forsythe, Dwayne Forsythe, William Mullins, George Oates, Cary Forsythe, Brent Forsythe, Travis, Forsythe, Thomas Rowe, Gary Rowe, and Bruce Bearden.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Grove Congregational Methodist Church, 204 River Oak, Lufkin, TX 75901 or to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Ave., Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home in Lufkin.
