Viola Anderson Lewis

Funeral services for Viola Anderson Lewis, 90, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 12:00 noon in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Andy Pittman officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Lewis was born February 16, 1923 in Malta, Texas to the late Arthur Hendrix and Mary Francis (Terral) Anderson, and died Monday, March 11, 2013 in a local hospital. She had resided in Lufkin for over 60 years. Mrs. Lewis was a retired real estate broker, and had also worked alongside her husband at Lewis Furniture. She was a member of Lufkin's First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Roy Dale and Debbie Lewis and Bill D. Lewis, Jr., all of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and George Wright of Lufkin; granddaughter, Kristy Wright of New York City, New York; grandson, Ryan Lewis of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill D. Lewis, Sr.; brothers, Arnold Anderson, Monroe Anderson, Arvil Anderson, Roy Anderson and Marshall Anderson; and sister, Odessa Clawson.
