Hipolito G. Reyes

Funeral services for Hipolito G. Reyes, 82, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Marcos Elizondo and Pastor Alex Montilla officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Reyes was born August 13, 1930 in Bryan, Texas to the late Domitilo Olavide Reyes and Aniceta (Garza) De Reyes, and died Thursday, March 7, 2013 in a local hospital. He had resided in Lufkin for more than 45 years.

Mr. Reyes retired from Texas Foundries. In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball and later in life he enjoyed watching it. His farm was his hobby. Mr. Reyes was a member of the Iglesia Cristiana Bautista Church.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Ino and Paula Reyes of Lufkin, Lorenzo Reyes, Armando and Maria Reyes, all of Diboll, Roy and Lucy Reyes, Valentin and Maria Olavide, all of Lufkin, Martin and Martha Reyes of Mexico, Hip Reyes of Lufkin and Rick Reyes of North Carolina; daughters and son-in-law, Ana Baxter and Mark Harrelson, Sandra Reyes, all of Lufkin, Lorena Crews of North Carolina, and Soraida Champion of Lufkin; stepchildren and their spouses, Carlos and Tommie Gonzalez, Sergio and Melba Gonzalez, all of Lufkin, Norma Rodriguez of Garland, and Juan and Esmeralda Gonzalez of Grand Prairie; and numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years and mother of his children, Maria Graciela Reyes, and his second wife, Maria DeLaLuz Gonzalez.

Pallbearers will be Ino Reyes, Lorenzo Reyes, Armando Reyes, Rogelio Reyes, Valentin Olavide and Martin Reyes.

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
