Funeral services for Benton Reynolds, 81, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother David Valentine and Brother Fred Smith officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow in the Berry Cemetery under the auspices of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M.
Mr. Reynolds was born February 20, 1932 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Oliver Perry and Minnie (Gandy) Reynolds, and died Sunday, March 3, 2013 in a local hospital. He was a lifetime resident of Angelina County.
Mr. Reynolds was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict, and retired from St. Regis Paper Mill following 38 years of employment. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M. and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Reynolds was a Deacon at Redland Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Reynolds of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Benton, Jr. and Deborah Reynolds of Las Colinas and Glen and Pam Reynolds of Houston; granddaughters, Sarah Joiner of Dallas and Emily Reynolds of Houston; grandsons, Jonas Joiner, Trey Reynolds, both of Dallas and Andrew Reynolds of Houston; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and James Holloway of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Jonas Joiner, Trey Reynolds, Andrew Reynolds, Steve Holloway, Jeff Allen and Doug Allen.
