Louis Eugene "Gene-O" Lambert

Funeral services for Louis Eugene "Gene-O" Lambert, 73, of Zavalla will be held Friday, March 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ with Brother Cary Modisett and Mr. Lambert's nephew, Cory Capps, officiating. Interment will follow in the Dunk Havard Cemetery.

Mr. Lambert was born October 29, 1939 in Lufkin, Texas to Louis and Lottie (Strange) Lambert, and died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in a local hospital. He was a lifetime resident of Angelina County and retired from the Road Maintenance Department of Angelina County. He was a member of Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Phyllis Lambert of Zavalla; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Manuel Herrada of Diboll, Angela and Chris Lackey of Lufkin, Jeannie Lambert and Christi Lambert, both of Zavalla; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Rhonda Lambert and Jonathan Lambert, all of Hudson; grandchildren, Caitlyn Lambert of Zavalla, Jesse Herrada of Diboll, Shane Lackey of Lufkin, Gracey Lambert, Tatum Lambert, both of Zavalla, and Natalie Lambert of Hudson; great-granddaughter, Madison Villarreal of Diboll; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nola and Ed Irvin of New Mexico, Tommie Nash, Ann Hawkins, Virginia and Gordon Getro, and Alice and Walter Berry, all of Lufkin; mother-in-law, Lula Page of Huntington; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Patti and Billy White of Huntington; brother-in-law, David Page of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronald "Herky" Lambert; granddaughter, Megan Villarreal; brother, James Lambert; sisters, Reba Griffith, Marie Jackson and Viola Williams; and nephew, Caleb Page.

Pallbearers will be Cameron Capps, Chase Capps, Shane Lackey, Jesse Herrada, J.D. Hawkins, Donnie Hawkins, Ronnie Lambert and Benjamin Lambert.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Rhodes, David Page and Billy White.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ.
