Nora Forrest

Memorial services for Nora Forrest, 71, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bill Havard officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mrs. Forrest was born December 1, 1941 in Jacksonville, Texas to Mary Dell and Wesley Weaver "Rip" Thurman, and died Sunday, February 17, 2013 in a local hospital. She had resided in Lufkin since 1972. Mrs. Forrest owned and operated Silver Tree jewelry for many years. She was a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Laura Denise and Michael Jenkins of Dayton, Nevada and Mary Catherine and Bernard Wright of Round Rock; grandsons, Jonathan Jenkins and Charles Jenkins, both of Dayton, Nevada; mother, Mary Dell Foster of Lufkin; brothers, Patrick Thurman of Lufkin and Jerry Thurman of Nacogdoches; and nephews and nieces, Alex Thurman of Plano, Abby Thurman, Amber Thurman, both of Dallas, and Anthony Thurman of Nacogdoches.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wesley Weaver "Rip" Thurman; and husband, Charles T. Forrest.
