Funeral services for Andy Quattlebaum, 79, of Huntington, will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Cary Modisett officiating. Interment will follow in the Rockland Cemetery.
Mr. Quattlebaum was born October 6, 1933 in Wyatt, Louisiana to the late Ida (Best) and Cornelius Quattlebaum. He died Sunday, April 7, 2013, in a Huntington nursing facility.
Mr. Quattlebaum had resided in Huntington most of his life. He was retired from Brookshire Brothers in Huntington where he had worked as an assistant store manager for 15 years. Mr. Quattlebaum served his country in the United States Army, and was a member of the Worldwide Church of God.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Joy Quattlebaum of Huntington; his children and their spouses, Andrea and Joe Kimbro of Houston, Shane Quattlebaum of Huntington, and Regina and Russell Julian of League City; grandchildren, Jennifer Brown, Jessica Greenly, Matthew Smith, Jordan Smith, Zachary Quattlebaum and Courtney Quattlebaum; six great grandchildren; brother, Gerald Lee Langston of Lumberton; sister, Frances Bland of Port Neches; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul Quattlebaum and C.M. Quattlebaum; sisters, Ginger Langston, Johnnie Gibson and JoAnn Patton.
Pallbearers will be Russell Julian, Daniel Brown, Lucas Greenly, Larry Barber, Randy Dykes and Zachary Quattlebaum.
Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Smith and Jordan Smith.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
