Graveside services for Carl Wesley Lindsey, 59, of Lufkin will be held Monday, September 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Red Lick Cemetery in Red Lick, Texas with Chaplain Greg Freijo officiating.
Mr. Lindsey was born June 30, 1952 in Texarkana, Texas, the beloved son of Sherman and Betty Marie (Ottwell) Lindsey. He joined them in rest until the coming of our Lord and Savior Thursday, September 15, 2011.
Mr. Lindsey was a resident of the Lufkin State Supported Living Center. He loved the many staff members and residents.
He is survived by his sisters, Dortha Mae Lindsey of Shreveport, Louisiana, Lorene Kay Lindsey of Dawson, and Beulah Faye McGraw and husband John B., whom he called his ""Big Brother"", of Shreveport, Louisiana; brother, Kenneth Wayne Lindsey of Richmond, Texas; and friend, Harvey Lee McLendon of Shreveport, Louisiana, whom he loved as a brother.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Memorial Specialty Hospital, who took care of him on the third and sixth floors, Dr. Ronald Corley at the infirmary of the Living Center, and Dr. Munir Ahmad for their loving and gentle care.
The family also thanks Chaplain Greg Freijo for taking the journey with us and giving Carl spiritual encouragement.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Saturday morning at Carroway Funeral Home.
