Bobbie Parker

Funeral services for Bobbie Parker, 93, of Allentown will be held Friday, September 23, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Cary Modisett officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.

Mrs. Parker was born January 5, 1918 in the Allentown Community, Angelina County, Texas to the late Mattie (Phelps) and Charlie Allen, and died Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at her residence. She was a lifetime resident of Allentown and was a homemaker. Mrs. Parker was very talented at writing poems and songs, and was an avid gardener and cook, especially sweet potato pie. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, but a Christian foremost. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Carrol and Jackie Parker of Allentown; daughters and sons-in-law, Noel and Jerry Eddings of Chireno and Nila and Jerry Wayne Patterson of Allentown; daughter-in-law, Joy Parker of Central; grandchildren and spouses, Andi and Shayne Dickerson, Dr. Matt and Kim Parker, Chris Parker, Patrick and Lisa Eddings, Vickie and Paul Emmons, Stacie and Michael Young, Perry Parker and Kathy Walker, Clay Parker, Cody and Kristy Parker; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her husband, L.T. ""Jiggs"" Parker; son, Allen L. ""Sonny"" Parker; and sisters, Margaret Hinson and Bennie Davis.

Pallbearers will be Cody Parker, Clay Parker, Patrick Eddings, Michael Young, Dr. Matt Parker and Paul Emmons.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
