Victoria G. Martinez

Mass of Christian Burial for Victoria G. Martinez, 62, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Francis O'Dowd officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Martinez was born March 18, 1949 in Los Angeles, California to the late Sue (Jones) and Victor Noriega, and died Sunday, October 2, 2011 in a local hospital. She graduated from Yuma High School in Yuma, Arizona, but resided in Lufkin most of her life. Mrs. Martinez retired from Woodland Heights Medical Center and was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sabrina and Jarrod Wood of Lufkin; sons, Michael Martinez and T.J. Martinez, both of Lufkin; grandsons, Mason Wood, Carter Wood and Graham Wood; sisters, Robin Noriega of Alma, Arkansas and Shelly Dehn and partner Kerri Dehn of Georgetown; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martinez was preceded in death by her husband, Cruz Martinez; daughter, Aurora Martinez; sister, Jean Medina; and brother, Jerry M. Noriega.

Pallbearers will be Andy Martinez, Able Martinez, Danny Martinez, Lorenzo Martinez, Jerry Wood and Jarrod Wood.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
