Funeral services for Brenda Gail Attaway Hollingsworth Smith, 60, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Keith Woolf and Brother Vic Bass officiating. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born February 15, 1951 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Dorothy Louise (Tidwell) and Chester Doyle Attaway. She died Wednesday, October 12, 2011 in a Lufkin hospital.
Mrs. Smith was a school bus driver and was proud to drive Bus #34 for the Lufkin I.S.D. She had resided in Lufkin and Diboll most of her life. Mrs. Smith was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Claude Smith, Jr., of Lufkin; daughters, Georgia Carson of North Carolina and Dorothy Ruhrup of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie and Brandie Ann Hollingsworth of Lufkin; stepson, Kenneth Smith of Houston; nine grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rose and Jorge Jasso of Diboll, Donna Mewborn of Lufkin, Tommie Attaway of Mansfield, Texas, Margaret Robledo of Hudson, and Bobbie and Brian Adams of Lufkin; brothers, James Attaway and Billy Attaway, both of Lufkin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was also preceded in death by a brother, Sammy Doyle Attaway.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
