Funeral services for Ed Pierce, 81, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Daniel Lakey officiating. Private family burial will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mr. Pierce was born July 10, 1930 in Panola County, Texas to the late EvyRee (Metcalf) and Richard N. Pierce, and died Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at his residence. A former resident of Sebastopol, he had resided in Lufkin for 14 years and was a retired carpenter.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene Pierce of Lufkin; daughters and son-in-law, Becky Jones of Kerrville and Dalal and Daniel Lakey of Lufkin; son, Ben Pierce of Magnolia; grandchildren, Cynthia Stephens, Charlotte Stephens, Shelby Pierce, Christopher Jones, Trevor Pierce, Mindy Wright, Danae Lakey, Danielle Lakey and Zach Pierce; great-grandchildren, Tyla Stephens, Kalyn Stephens, Kyna Stephens, Clara Stephens, Jakob Stephens, Emma Lou Stephens, Christopher Pierce, Elisabeth Pierce, Caleb Brantley, Colby Pierce, Kylie Wright, and Riley Wright; six brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Pierce was preceded in death by one brother; two sisters; and his first wife, Ruth Pierce.

Pallbearers will be Shelby Pierce, Trevor Pierce, Harold Bartlett, Lee Pierce, Don Richardson and Wayne Hodge.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 West Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
