Ruby Thomas

Ruby Thomas was born May 22, 1923, in Marquez, Texas to James Monroe and Della (Post) Veteto, and died November 29, 2011 at her home in Huntington. She had lived in Lufkin and Huntington most of her life.

She was married for over 67 years to Sherman Thomas, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Sherman Martin and Marie Thomas of Etoile, Richard and Jeanette Thomas of Huntington, James and Betty Thomas of Huntington; daughters and son-in-law, Elizabeth Adams and Ed Falknor and Sallie Thomas Mooney, all of Huntington; brother and sister-in-law, Mack and Avalene Abbott of Broaddus; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Sherman; sister, Sallie Dickenson; and daughter-in-law, Wanda Sue Thomas.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Lenin Pinnamaneni, Margie Gandy of Affinity Hospice, Valare Beauchamp and Vesta Golden for their loving care of our precious mother during her final illness.

A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions could be made to Sims (Rocky Hill) Cemetery in her name, P.O. Box 1322, Huntington, TX 75949.
