Letha Billingsley Swor

Funeral services for Letha Billingsley Swor, 86, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Kyle Campbell and Jim McDonald officiating. Interment will follow in the Fielder Cemetery.
Letha Billingsley was born August 9, 1925 in Grand Prairie, Texas to the late Elizabeth (Scarborough) and George S. Billingsley, and passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011 at her home. She had lived in Lufkin most of her life and retired from the Lufkin Independent School District where she was a food service worker.
Family and friends benefited from her love of sewing, delicious meals, beautiful roses, and service to others. Her lasting example to her family is one of unconditional love and compassion. Her life exemplifies the virtuous woman found in Proverbs 31 whose children rise up and call her blessed.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Vernon and Dorothy Swor, R.V. Swor, Rodney Swor, all of Lufkin, and Glenda Swor of Huntsville; grandchildren and spouses, Karen Eddins and Dan, Kevin Swor and Andrea, Kimberley Griffith and John, Kristi DiStefano and Scott, Chad Swor and Charlotte, Amy Swor, Justin Swor, LeeAnne Jones and Robert, Collin Swor and Harrison Swor; eleven great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Delores and David Duren of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Ragna (Rays) Billingsley of Huntsville; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Swor was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Swor, to whom she was married for 48 years until his death in 1990; her son, Leland Swor of Huntsville; three brothers, Alton, L.B. and James; and two sisters, Myrtle Hardy and her twin sister, Retha Billingsley.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Swor, Dan Eddins, John Griffith, Scott DiStefano, Robert Jones, Daniel Eddins, John David Eddins and Collin Swor.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. Willis, Hospice in the Pines, and special caregivers, Joyce Carlton and Mary Dell Stanley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 West Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
