Mary Johnson

Funeral services for Mary ""Darlene"" Johnson, 62, of Lufkin, will be held Monday, December 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Bill Martin and Manard Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson was born June 8, 1949 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Mary Louise (Willard) and Milton Martin. She died Friday, December 2, 2011 in the Methodist Hospital in Houston.
Mrs. Johnson was a retired nurse and most recently worked at the Wells nursing home. She was a loving wife and mother, and enjoyed going camping. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and had lived in Lufkin all her life.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Edward ""Eddie"" Johnson of Lufkin; her children and their spouses, Lesa Alderman of Bryan, Eddie and Helon Johnson of Lufkin, Janet and Steve Bounds of Diboll, and Jennifer Solly of Lufkin; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one on-the-way; sister, Donna Caddenhead of Groveton; brother and sister-in-law, Milton and Elisa Martin of Wells; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, A.J. and Annette Johnson of Conroe, Reba and John Blackburn, and Yvonne and Elmer McDonald of Missouri; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Mettlen.
Pallbearers will be Harold Tillar, Brian Willis, Jesse Bates, Jeff Wise, Reese Grayson and Randal Burns.
Honorary pallbearers will be Carlton Bounds, James Bounds, Kenneth Grisham, Raymond Due, and Jimmy Steptoe.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
