John Wayne Dubose

January 29, 1957 — December 6, 2011

Funeral services for John Wayne DuBose, 54, of Zavalla will be held Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the Zavalla First Baptist Church with Reverend Jacob Fitzgerald and Reverend P.A. DuBose officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow in the Concord Cemetery under the auspices of the Zavalla Masonic Lodge #1263 A.F. & A.M.

Mr. DuBose was born January 29, 1957 in Jasper, Texas to Marie (Evans) and Dick Richard DuBose, and died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 in a local hospital. He was a lifetime resident of Zavalla and had been employed with the City of Huntington for 15 years. Mr. DuBose was a lifetime member of the Zavalla Masonic Lodge #1263 A.F. & A.M., and a member of the Zavalla First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Caryn and Jonathan Steel of Lufkin; sons, William DuBose of Loretta, Pennsylvania, Nathan DuBose of Killeen and David DuBose of Zavalla; grandchildren, Adam DuBose, Lera Shurley and Audrey Steel, all of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Dixie and Larry Cain of Zavalla; nephew, Brad Weaver and wife Rhonda of Etoile; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Doug Williams, Denman Lovejoy, Tim Steel, John Bridges, Bruce Milstead and Fred Bautista.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Zavalla First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 73, Zavalla, Texas 75980.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the Zavalla First Baptist Church.
