Katherine Minshew

Funeral services for Katherine Minshew, 65, of Lufkin, will be held Sunday, December 18, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Lamar Denby officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.

Ms. Minshew was born August 21, 1946, in Lufkin, Texas to Beatrice (Jackson) and the late Jake Marino. She died Thursday, December 15, 2011 at her residence.

Ms. Minshew was a retired nurse for Memorial Medical Center, following 39 years of service. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Lufkin Chapter #382, and was of the Baptist faith. Ms. Minshew had lived in Lufkin all her life.

Survivors include her son, Eric Shane Minshew, and his girlfriend, Teresa of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Tara and Scott Graham of Pollok; grandchildren, Sara Ann Minshew of Huntington, Wyatt Wesley Graham and Preston Roland Graham, both of Pollok; mother, Beatrice Alexander of Lufkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Phillip, III., and Sheryl Alexander of League City, David and Sherry Alexander of Lufkin; numerous nieces and nephews; cousin, Larry Jackson of Seabrook; special friends, Pauline Shoemaker of Hudson, Anna Mae Luce of Apple Springs, and Chuck Greening of Hudson; and very special Heart to Heart Hospice nurse, Bette Agers.

Preceding Ms. Minshew in death were her father, Jake Marino; stepfather, Phillip Alexander, Jr.; and grandparents, John and Alice ""Granny"" Jackson.

Pallbearers will be Chad Alexander, Jeff Alexander, Chris Jackson, Clint Jackson, Dennis Trahan and Mayburn Greening, Jr.
