Betty Lou Lowery

Funeral services for Betty Lou Lowery, 73, of Colmesneil will be held Saturday, December 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Reagan Sewell officiating. Interment will follow in the Shofner Cemetery.

Mrs. Lowery was born November 12, 1938 in the Odell Community, Angelina County, Texas to the late Hattie Mae (Shofner) and Ezra Donnell, and died Thursday, December 22, 2011 at her residence.

Mrs. Lowery had worked as a LVN for Memorial Hospital and co-owned the Lufkin Livestock Exchange. She had resided in Colmesneil for 21 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Colmesneil.

Survivors include her husband, Giles Lowery of Colmesneil; son and daughter-in-law, Jason G. and Angela Lowery of Colmesneil; grandchildren, Jessica Jason Lowery and Landon Cole Lowery, both of Colmesneil; sister, Cyndi Hopson of Huntington; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lowery was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Lee Donnell.

Pallbearers will be Charles Rawls, John Michael Stacey, Rex Womack, Jim Carlton, Kelly Thornton and Joe Allen Hooks.

Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Sowell, Timothy Womack and Jim Eldert.

The family extends special thanks to Heart to Heart Hospice and the staff of the Memorial Cardiovascular and Stroke Center for their loving care.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
