Wanda Larie Smith

Graveside services for Wanda Larie Smith, 72, of Pollok will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Simpson Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith was born December 11, 1939, in Angelina County, Texas to the late Commie (Greenville) and Douglas Manley. She died Sunday, December 25, 2011 in a Lufkin hospital.

Mrs. Smith had resided in Pollok all her life. She was a homemaker, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Mrs. Smith was a graduate of Central High School and the Captain of the 1958 Central Lady Bulldogs. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Simpsontown.

She was the loving wife of 53 years of Louis Jerald Smith of Pollok. She is also survived by her children and their spouses, Kenneth and Belinda Smith, Deneice Smith Vardeman, all of Pollok, Leigh and Doug Peery of Douglass, Stephen and Ashley Smith of Pollok, and Ashley and Mike Ancira of Diboll; brother and sister-in-law, Sheryll and Carol Manley of Pollok; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Jim Allen of Central; grandchildren, Leland Smith, Kisha McAdams, both of Pollok, Dustin Peery of Douglass, Clint Peery of Groesbeck, and Davin Peery of Atoy; great grandchildren, Hunter, Heath, Kalyn, Braedon, Daiden, and special girl talk buddy, Bryleigh; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Becky Smith of Chandler, Barbara and Jim Gregory of Euless; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Commie Manley; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rozell and Nancy Smith; sister-in-law, Toby Maley; and son-in-law, Billy Ray Vardeman.

The family would like to thank special friends: Billie Merle and Joe Jackson, Charles and Carol Flowers, Ned and Connie Thompson, Mike and Cathy Thompson, L.E. and Sue Smith, Irving Ray and Linda Berry, Peggy Click, Jim and Elise Bell, J.C. and Mary Crawford, Dr. James Saxton and his staff, and the Central High School Class of 1958.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
