Funeral services for Helen ""Peachie"" Brown, 71, of Huntington will be held Sunday, January 8, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Deborah and James High officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mrs. Brown was born May 11, 1940 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Iva (Barnes) and Ethridge Williams, and died Thursday, January 5, 2012 in a local hospital, following a courageous battle with cancer. She resided in Angelina County most of her life and was a homemaker. Mrs. Brown loved hats, and enjoyed quilting and being with her loving family.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Ireta and Roger Barton of Huntington, Betty and Gary Barton of Lufkin, Iva and Michael Segrest and Tammie and Jimmy Clegg, all of Huntington; sons and daughters-in-law, Doyle Brown and Peggy Erbey of Lufkin and Willie, Jr. and Leslie Brown of Burke; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Tommy Schmidt, Betty and Fred Gregg, all of Conroe, and Billie McMullen of Wells; brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Jo Williams of Burke; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Willie D. Brown, Sr.; son, David Ray Brown; sisters, Mary Jo Allison and Georgia Ann Williams; and mother-in-law, LaVell Brown.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Brown, Michael Brown, Steve Barton, Eric Barton, Stanley Barton and Corey Brown.

Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Segrest, William Capps, Shalisha Segrest, Felicia Segrest, Jazmine Capps, Christina Capps and Georgia Capps.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 West Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
