Troy Lane Turner

Funeral services for Troy Lane Turner, 50, of Huntington will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Reverend Calvin Kersh and Dr. Mark Livingston officiating.

Mr. Turner was born October 13, 1961 in Houston, Texas to Walter and Elaine (Temple) Turner, and died Sunday, January 15, 2012 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

A former resident of Hudson, Mr. Turner had resided in Huntington for 18 months. He had been a supervisor for Universal Demolishing and Recycling for over 20 years. Mr. Turner was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved hog hunting and was a member of the North American Hunting Club. Mr. Turner loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Lala Hill Baptist Church in Huntington.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Diane Turner of Huntington; daughters, Tiffany Turner and Charlene Johnson, both of Lufkin; son, Casey Turner of Huntington; grandchildren, Justin Johnson, Aliyah Alvarado, Zackary Toothman and J.C. Kessinger; parents, Walter and Elaine Turner of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Katrina and Donnie Hawkins of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Dottie Vaughan of Huntington; nieces, Brittany Darab of Austin and Lauren York of Lufkin; nephew, Cody Darab, Sr. of Austin; special niece, Crystle Rogers of Forrest; and great-nephew, Walter Cody Darab, Jr. of Lufkin.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bernice and Beatrice Temple; and paternal grandparents, Martin and Vida Turner.

Pallbearers will be Ralph Cannon, Dusty Stephenson, Shannon Lowe, Charlie Graham, Roy ""Woody"" Smith and Russell Harvey.

Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Johnson, Jarrod Daniels, employees of Universal Demolishing and Recycling, Walter Cody Darab, Sr., and Jake Stringer.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
