Claudia Duke

Claudia Duke, 76, of Lufkin died Monday, January 23, 2012 in a local hospital. Private family funeral services will be held.

Mrs. Duke was born March 7, 1935 in Trinity County, Texas to the late Reese Ephie and Dona Elizabeth (Kirk) Jeffrey. She resided in Lufkin most of her life and was a volunteer at Memorial Medical Center. Mrs. Duke enjoyed gardening, sewing and photography. She liked feeding wildlife, scrapbooking and walking on the beach. Mrs. Duke was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry Elizabeth and R.L. McGuire, Jr. of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Densel Bruce and Linda Ann Allred of Lake Park, Georgia, Rubin Madison and Linda Kay Allred and Richard Brent Allred, all of Lufkin; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Duke was preceded in death by her husbands, Rubin Bruce ""R.B."" Allred and Billy George Duke; grandson, Joshua Bruce Allred; granddaughter, Laura Elizabeth Allred; and half-sisters, Ocie Lancaster and Robbie Cox.
