Graveside services for Willene Harper, 78, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the Whitehouse Cemetery with Kim and Tracey Harper officiating. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Harper was born March 12, 1933 in Moultrie, Georgia to the late Elijha and Lucille (Crosby) Peacock, and died Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at her residence. She was a 40 year resident of Lufkin and had been employed with the Lufkin ISD. Mrs. Harper was a loving Christian woman and mother. She was a member of the Lufkin First Assembly of God Church and loved cooking and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Georganna Harper, Michael and Melissa Harper and Kim and Tracey Harper, all of Lufkin; daughter, Malinda Fry of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Clifford Hughes of Lufkin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Annie Mae and Wayne Vinson of Palatka, Florida; brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Linda Peacock of Hawassia, Georgia; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her husband, William Charles Harper; son, Roger Harper; and grandson, Nathan Harper.
