Funeral services for James C. Allee, 79, of Lufkin, will be held Sunday, February 12, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Wells, Texas.
Mr. Allee was born April 10, 1932 in Marlin, Texas to the late Ruby (Brown) and James Clifton Allee. He died Thursday, February 9, 2012 in a Lufkin nursing facility.
Mr. Allee was a retired pipefitter for Local Union #106, and had resided in the Lufkin area most of his life. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Allee was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Allee was also known as the ""Shrimp Man.""
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Opal Allee of Lufkin; his children and their spouses, Jimmy and Barbara Allee, Ruth and Clyde Connor, Lenny and Kim Allee, Pam and Bill Godley, Benny and Mary Ann Allee, all of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Linda Holt of Poulsbo, Washington, Diane and Don Gibson of Bullard, Debbie Attaway of Houston, and David and Verda Goff of Wimberley; eighteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be David Goff, Daryl Attaway, Darick Attaway, Benny Allee, Lenny Allee and Don Gibson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 West Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
