J. Terry Morrow

Funeral services for J. Terry Morrow, 78, of Lufkin, will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Henderson Chapel of the First United Methodist Church of Lufkin with Rev. D. Nick Sholars, Senior Pastor, officiating. Entombment will follow in the in the Sunset Mausoleum in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Morrow was born June 10, 1933 in Crockett, Texas to the late Thelma (Knox) and James Glover Morrow. He died Sunday, February 26, 2012 in a Lufkin hospital.
Mr. Morrow had lived in Lufkin since 1974 and was the retired owner of the Morrow Honda dealership. He had been involved in the automobile industry for 38 years, serving on the Board of Directors of the Texas Automobile Dealers Association, as Chairman of the Buick Motor Division Regional Dealers Council, and as President of the Lufkin Automobile Dealers Association. Mr. Morrow was a longtime member of Lufkin's First United Methodist Church where he served as Chairman of the Church Council, on the Board of Trustees, and as President and Treasurer of the Musslewhite Sunday School Class. He was a Charter Member of Crown Colony Country Club, where he served as the first President of the Men's Golf Association, on the Board of Directors, as Co-Chairman of the Crown Colony Pro-Am, as a founding Director of the Temple Cup and Senior Temple Cup, and as a member of the Architectural Committee. Mr. Morrow was also very active in the community, serving as President of the Board of Hospice in the Pines, on the Kurth Foundation Board, President of the Lufkin Host Lions Club, on the Angelina Benefit Rodeo Board, and as a member of the Chamber of Commerce. He was a United States Army veteran.
Survivors include his son, Jim Morrow of Plano; grandsons, Taylor, Zach and Jake Morrow; niece, Paula Emmert of Kingwood; nephew, Rick Pennington of Crockett; as well as a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
Preceding Mr. Morrow in death were his wife of 48 years, Diana Morrow, in January 2011, and his sister, Esta Faye Pennington.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Morrow, Zach Morrow, Jake Morrow, James Kerbo, John C. Ramey and Jim Todd.
Honorary pallbearers are James Gibbs, Wyatt Leinart, Tom Tayloe, and the members of the Crown Colony Neighborhood Dinner Club.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 805 East Denman Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75901, or to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 West Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
