Funeral services for Dale Madden, 75, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Reverend Horace Fletcher and Dr. Charles Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.
Mr. Madden was born July 7, 1936 in Grand Saline, Texas to the late Martha Inez (Attkisson) and Emmitt Foster Madden. He died Monday, February 27, 2012 in a Lufkin hospital.
Mr. Madden retired in 1998 as the Market Manager at Boles Food Market. He was a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time at the camp house with his family. Formerly a resident of Tyler, Mr. Madden had lived in Lufkin since 1958.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Madden of Lufkin; daughters and son-in-law, Gayle and Steve Chandler, and Phyllis Kay Davis, all of Lufkin; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sisters, Gloria Minatrea of Mesquite, Wilda Koonce of Grand Saline, Wanda Sparks of Tyler, and Ruthie Chote of Grand Saline; brothers, Wayne Madden and John Henry Madden, both of Lufkin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceding Mr. Madden in death were his parents and his son, Robert Madden.
Pallbearers will be Matt Chandler, Michael Andrew Teer, Marlyn Smith, Don Bess, Jack Dickey and Paul Johns.
Honorary pallbearers are C.B. Gray and Edgar Casper.
