Juanita J. Blake

Funeral services for Juanita J. Blake, 72, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charles M. Roberts and Reverend Henry Mills officiating. Interment will follow in the Fielder Cemetery.

Mrs. Blake was born May 22, 1939 in Corpus Christi, Texas to the late Arthur James and Wilma Ruth (Smith) Chambless, and died Tuesday, February 28, 2012 in a local hospital. She had resided in Lufkin since 1982, was a homemaker, and was very devoted to her family. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds and loved to travel. Mrs. Blake was a member of the Denman Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Ricky Blake of Lufkin, Tammy and Keith Phelps of Denton, Debbie and Jerry Branson and Elbert Blake, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Crystal Blake, Ricky Blake, Brandon Christopher and wife Amy, Chad Christopher and wife Amanda, Kyle Phelps, Kendall Phelps, Scott Thomas and wife Alison, Blake Thomas and fiancée Becca Grewing, Josh Branson and Matt Rives; great-grandchildren, Jami and Kati Blake, Riley, Jared and Delaney Christopher, Rainey and Jace Christopher; sister, Louise Anderson of Cuero; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Blake was preceded in death by her soul mate and beloved husband of 54 years, Carlton Blake; granddaughter, Carla Blake; one brother; and one sister.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Christopher, Chad Christopher, Matt Rives, Scott Thomas, Blake Thomas and Ricky Blake II.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jarrod Christmas, Austin Christmas and Scott Hawkins.
