Mass of Catholic Burial for Tavita Carrillo will be celebrated Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Diboll with Father Victor A. Hamon and Deacon Jesus Reyes, celebrants. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2012 at the church.
Tavita Carrillo, 19, of Diboll was born November 11, 1992 in Lufkin Texas. She died Thursday, March 8, 2012 in Diboll from injuries sustained in an accident.
Tavita was an artist, a poet, a photographer and a free-spirit. She loved to dance, 90's alternative music, and to express HERSELF. Tavita had recently begun working as a waitress at Cheddars but mostly volunteered as babysitter for her beloved nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Diboll High School and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Tavita had lived in Diboll all her life.
Survivors include her father, Jose Carrillo; grandfather, Angel Carrillo and his wife, Julia Gonzalez; sister and brother-in-law, Jesucita and Aaron Menz and their daughters, Eva Sofia Menz and Emilia Menz; brother, Melecio Carrillo; brother, Jose Angel Carrillo and his fiancée Sonia Gonzalez; sister, Alejandra Carrillo and her fiancé, Gabriel Compean; sister and brother-in-law, Damaris and Daniel Silva and their daughters, Danai Silva and Dalila Silva; brother, Isaac Carrillo; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Tavita's mother, Sofia Carrillo, and her nephew, King ""Rey"" Sebastian Compean, also died in the accident.
Pallbearers will be Isaac Carrillo, Gabriel Compean, Juan Garcia, Maria Compean, Esteban Solis, Omar Solis and Victor Compean.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jennifer Rostro, Lucero Carrillo, Selena Meza, Layla Barron and Katie Bales.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening prior to the rosary at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
