Stanley Elwar Mccune

Stanley Elwart ""Stan"" McCune, 67, of Zavalla died Saturday, March 17, 2012 in Stringtown, Oklahoma. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Mr. McCune was born October 5, 1944 in Beloit, Kansas to Elwart F. and Beulah Maxine (Loomis) McCune. He had resided in Zavalla for 17 years. Mr. McCune served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. He retired from KBR Quality Control in April 2011, where he was a welding inspector.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Judy McCune of Zavalla; sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Anissa McCune of Durant, Oklahoma and Ray Lasley of Palmer, Alaska; daughters and son-in-law, Bobbie Jo and Reggie Smoot of Canada and Laura Lasley of Lufkin; 11 grandchildren; mother, Maxine McCune of Beloit, Kansas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Michelle White of Beloit, Kansas, Dianne and Len Brown of Farmersville and Kathy and Dennis Smiley of Zavalla; brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Dorothy McCune of Kenai, Alaska; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elwart F. McCune.
