James Edward Robertson

Funeral services for James Edward ""Hawk"" Robertson, 53, of Lufkin will be held Friday, March 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lionel Whitaker, Minister Vertis Thacker, Minister Ricky Smith and Minister Derry Scott officiating. words of encouragement will be given by ""James' Baby Boy"", Timothy Jerome Robertson. Interment will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Robertson was born August 23, 1958 in Angelina County, Texas, and died Thursday, March 15, 2012 in a Houston hospital. He was a lifetime resident of Angelina County and a 1977 graduate of Huntington High School.

Mr. Robertson was ""Daddy"" to Jalen, Adrian, Isiah, Braylen, Skylar, Kim and Katylen, and they called him PawPaw. He was a mason, and a member of the Simpson Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Lela Mae Robertson of Lufkin; son, Corey E. Robertson of Lufkin; daughter, Sharon Robertson-Woods and husband Lester Woods, Jr. of Lufkin; son, Timothy J. Robertson of Dallas; daughter, Stacy Gunter and husband Timothy Gunter of Missouri; 10 grandchildren; mother, Christine Robertson Jackson of Lufkin; brothers, Keith Jackson and wife Kathy and Don Jackson and wife Darlene, all of Lufkin; sisters, Eva Mae Jackson, Gladys Faye Hale, Claudia Jackson and Christi Lawson, all of Lufkin; mother-in-law, Barbara Williams of Lufkin; Godson, Nicholus Jones of Crockett; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe James ""Paw"" Robertson and Gladys Wortham Robertson; and father-in-law, Earl Williams.

Pallbearers will be the Brotherhood of the Simpson Chapel Baptist Church.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
