Graveside services for Irene Temple Schoolcraft, 84, of Lufkin will be held Friday, March 23, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Old Union Cemetery with Reverend Kerry Baxley officiating.
Mrs. Schoolcraft was born September 6, 1927 in Minden, Louisiana to the late Claude and Mae Lucille (Batton) Temple, and died Monday, March 19, 2012 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Schoolcraft resided in Texas City and Palestine before retiring and moving to Lufkin 12 years ago. She retired from Pabco Metals following 30 years of service as office manager. Mrs. Schoolcraft enjoyed spending time with her family and enjoying her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Kim Schoolcraft of Texas City; granddaughter, Courtney Schoolcraft Murati and husband Andy of Austin; great-grandchildren, Elyssa Grace Murati and Andrew Dixon Murati, both of Austin; nephews, Charles Edward Matthews and wife Shelly of Splendora and James Wayne Temple of Colorado; and a number of cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Schoolcraft; brothers, John Dixon Temple, James Temple and Austin Temple; and sisters, Pauline Trevathan and Vernell Griggs.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Friday at Carroway Funeral Home.
