Moye Dee (M.D.) Scarborough

Funeral services for M.D. Scarborough, 67, of Diboll, will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 12 Noon in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Myrton Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Fielder Cemetery.
Brother Scarborough was born August 11, 1944 in Diboll, Texas to the late Eunice Faye (Alsbrooks) and Holland Scarborough. He went home on Saturday, March 24, 2012 in a Lufkin hospice facility.
Brother Scarborough was the retired Pastor of Promise Land Baptist Church, and served as a Deacon of his church for 17 years. He was City Manager of Shamrock, Texas, Interim City Manager of Diboll, and retired from the City of Lufkin as the Utilities Director. Brother Scarborough loved his family and spoiling his grandchildren. He had been a resident of Diboll all his life.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Louise Scarborough of Diboll; daughters, Vickie Benoit of Kilgore and Theresa Spears of Lufkin; son, Dee Scarborough, Jr., of Diboll; seven grandchildren, Regan Benoit, Drew Spears, Haley Spears, Brook Spears, Seth Scarborough, Levi Scarborough and Lexi Scarborough; great granddaughter, Evelyn Spears; sister, Elouise Phelps of Humble; brother, David Lee Scarborough of Diboll; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceding Brother Scarborough in death were his parents; his stepmother, Lillie Faye Scarborough; and his brother, Wayne Scarborough.
Pallbearers will be Carlos Moreno, Trey Thompson, Mark Hines, David Mott, D L Wallace and David Mendez.
Honorary pallbearers are Josh Richard and Pat Miller.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 West Frank Ave., Lufkin, Texas 75904; or to the American Cancer Society, 212 Gene Samford Dr., Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon Tuesday morning prior to the service at the funeral home.
