Funeral services for Robert Joseph Weaver, 80, of Burke, will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 12 Noon in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Myrton Thompson and Brother Sonny Scarborough officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.
Mr. Weaver was born July 26, 1931 in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late Pearl (Tucker) and William H. Weaver. He died Sunday, March 25, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Weaver was a retired truck driver for Soil Fertility. He was a founding member of Jubilee Baptist Church and a member of the Adult Sunday School Class. Mr. Weaver loved going to auctions. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved his grandchildren, and they were like his shadow, riding around with him on the mule. He had resided in Burke for the past 32 years, and previously lived in Nacogdoches for 48 years.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Beverly Weaver of Burke; his children and their spouses, Kim and Jimmy Nash of Corrigan, Bob Weaver of Dallas, Beverly Heaton of Nacogdoches, Brad and Connie Weaver of Douglass, Monica Buster of Nacogdoches, and Melissa Ray of Nacogdoches; grandsons, Wyatt Nash and Ethan Nash, both of Corrigan, as well as eleven other grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Howard and Cindy Weaver, Leroy Weaver, all of Nacogdoches; sisters and brother-in-law, Evelyn and John Fore, Hazel Harold, all of Nacogdoches; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be William Pinkston, Travis Pinkston, Lewis Pinkston, Darrell Pinkston, Trey Thompson and Charlie Mettlen.
Honorary pallbearer is Freeman Thompson.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12 Noon Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
