Funeral services for Mildred Irene Cheatom Liles, 95, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Horace Fletcher and Brother Roger Fancher officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells.
Mrs. Liles was born August 25, 1916 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Georgia Mae (Stanley) and Jesse James Cheatom. She died Monday, March 26, 2012 in a Huntington nursing facility.
Mrs. Liles was a homemaker with ten children, and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Formerly of Wells, she had resided in Lufkin most of her life. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Wells.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Betty and Nelson Metcalf of Ore City, Joyce and Kenneth Vann of Lufkin, Laneice and Jack Sewell of Texarkana, Arkansas, Rose Anthony of Lufkin, Jerry Liles of Cleveland, Donnie and Mark Hill of Hartshorne, Oklahoma, and Verdie and Mary Liles of Mt. Belvieu; daughter-in-law, Barbara Liles of Huntington; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Bernice McKnight of Lufkin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceding Mrs. Liles in death were her parents; her husband, Ray Liles; sons, Jimmy Liles and Charles Liles; daughter and son-in-law, Cathrin and Vernon Seale; and grandson, Charles Allen Liles.
Pallbearers will be Terry Vann, Russell Liles, Michael Seale, James Ray Seale, Michael Page, Tommy Anderson, B.J. Anderson and Kenneth Vann.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 West Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
