Funeral services for Don Carroll, 77, of Lufkin will be held Monday, April 2, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ty Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery.
Mr. Carroll was born June 18, 1934 in Lufkin, Texas to James Franklin and Hazel Janell (Bates) Carroll, and died Saturday, March 31, 2012 in a local hospital.
Mr. Carroll had resided in Lufkin most of his life. He served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Champion International Paper Mill following 25 years of service. He was a deacon at Redland Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Carroll of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Rhonda Carroll of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Ron Moors of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, John and Tammy Carroll of South Carolina; grandchildren and their spouses, Cindy and Brad Bowers, Jason and Chinwe Carroll, Chris and Natalie Carroll, Michelle and Andrew Hunt, and Jacob Carroll; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Lauren Bowers, Noah Hunt, Hannah, Weston and Cayden Carroll, Caleb and Joshua Carroll; sister, Bettye Bowers of Nebraska; half-brother, J.C. Carroll and wife Cynthia of Alto; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Jason Carroll, Chris Carroll, Brad Bowers, Mark Emmons, Earl Dover and Beamon Calhoun.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Carroll and Andrew Hunt.
