Funeral services for Jessie Charlene Forrest Blake, 75, of the Beulah Community will be held Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Matt Faircloth and Brother Van Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Blake was born October 6, 1936 in Huntington, Texas to the late Velma Lee (Squyres) and Woodrow Forrest. She died Sunday, April 22, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Blake was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Blake had resided in the Diboll/Beulah area all her life.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Olen Blake of Beulah; sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Peggy Blake of Beulah, Don and Cindy Blake of Hudson, and Darwin and Lisa Blake of Huntington; three grandchildren, Wendy White and husband Stephen of Tomball, Bethani Blake of Lufkin, and Ross Blake of Nashville, Tennessee; two great- grandchildren, Cole and Carsyn; sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and James ""Bud"" Steveson of Lufkin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceding Mrs. Blake in death were her parents.
Pallbearers will be Don Ross Blake, Joe Davis, Sammy Steveson, Lanny Carnley, Bennis Carnley and Jody Cook.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Blake's nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 West Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
