Sue Futch Thomas

Funeral services for Sue Futch Thomas, 79, of Lufkin will be held Friday, May 4, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bud Bonner, Todd Partin and Patrick Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Largent Cemetery.

Mrs. Thomas was born September 25, 1932 in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late Margaret Thelma (Anderson) and Vollie Edward Futch, Sr., and died Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in a Nacogdoches hospital.

Mrs. Thomas was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and retired from Perry Brothers following 35 years of employment. She was a member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church where she had been the pianist and organist for more than 50 years. Mrs. Thomas was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother, and was one of the most giving and caring people you could ever meet. She loved to bowl and roller skate.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, James ""Dub"" Thomas of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Leta Thomas of Lufkin and Pat and Susan Thomas of San Diego, California; daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Dewayne Lambert of Navasota; grandchildren, Travis Thomas, Isaiah Thomas, Sarah and Daniel Wise, Britt Thomas and Brandi Hunziker, and Kyle Joswiak; five great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Vollie and Mozelle Futch of Lufkin, James and Tina Futch of Jacksonville, Florida and Jackie and Judy Futch of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Curtis Wise of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her grandson, Cody Joswiak.

Pallbearers will be Dewayne Lambert, Darrell Murray, Derrick Henderson, Britt Thomas, Daniel Wise and Curtis Wise.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2534 Bethlehem Road, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
