Funeral services for Albert Earl ""Shorty"" Stokley, Sr., 87, of Huntington-Marion Ferry will be held Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Pastor Don Lofton and Brother Jerry Toomey officiating. Interment will follow in the Sims (Rocky Hill) Cemetery.
Mr. Stokley was born December 6, 1924 in Buckatunna, Mississippi to the late David and Hazel (Quattibaum) Stokley, and died Saturday, May 12, 2012 in a local hospital. He had resided in Angelina County most of his life and was the District Manager for Billups Oil Company for many years. Mr. Stokley was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Hazel and John West of Marion Ferry, Audrey and Donald Spicer of Lufkin and Cindy and Fernando Arredondo of Marion Ferry; sons and daughters-in-law, Albert Earl, Jr. and Brenda Stokley and Rodney and Barbara Stokley, all of Marion Ferry; grandchildren, Michelle Beauchamp and husband Roy of Corrigan, Julie Russell and husband David of San Augustine, Matthew Hoff of Marion Ferry, Steven Toothman of Lufkin, Amanda Toothman of Pasadena, Robyn Toothman of Baytown, Nicole Stephens and husband Jeff of Lufkin, Jesse Arredondo of Lufkin, Tiffany Knudtson and husband Eric of Austin, Albert Earl Stokley III of Marion Ferry, Megan Roberts of Cullman, Alabama, Daniel Knight of Lufkin, Briana Stokley of Marion Ferry, Brandi Stokley of Phoenix, Arizona, Traci Davis and husband Will of Lufkin, Rodney Stokley, Jr. of Lufkin, Tabatha Stokley of Marion Ferry and Kimberly Stokley of Marion Ferry; great-grandchildren, Samuel Beauchamp, Jade Beauchamp, both of Corrigan, Bryan Hoff, Joshua Russell, both of San Augustine, Zachery Toothman, Dylan Castro, both of Lufkin, Cierra King, Kaydence King, both of Baytown, Sawyer Stephens, Destiny Williams, Nevaeh Davis, Bree Allen Davis, all of Lufkin, and Seth Davis of Huntington; sons-in-law, Perry Hoff of Marion Ferry and Hank Toothman of Falls City; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Prentice and Bonnie Touchstone of Pensacola, Florida, Voncill Touchstone of Robertsdale, Alabama, Toby Taylor of Silas, Alabama and Odell and Mae Helen Toomey of Stateline, Mississippi; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Stokley was preceded in death by his wife, Lettie Mae (Touchstone) Stokley; grandson, Henry Earl Toothman, Jr.; and brother, Rodney Blanton.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Arredondo, Steven Toothman, Rodney Stokley, Jr., Albert Stokley III, Daniel Knight and Matthew Hoff.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Beauchamp, Jeff Stevens and Chris Swango.
