Ruby M. Register

Funeral services for Ruby M. Register, 98, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Karl Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mrs. Register was born June 30, 1913 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Arnette Jerome and Nora Esther (Winthrop) Green, and died Sunday, May 13, 2012 in Rockwall, Texas. She was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Lufkin.

Mrs. Register was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to laugh and tease. Heaven became a ""spunky"" place when she arrived. Mrs. Register was a painter, gardener, musician, singer, and a volunteer in her community.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Maxine and R.G. ""Bud"" Davis of Lufkin; daughter-in-law, Sharon Brand; grandchildren and their spouses, Teresa Davis, Jana Nelson, Sally Flewellen, Angela Williams, Cynthia and Mark Parker, Michael Register, Lori and Greg Coon, Donna and Randy Seamans, Melody and Patrick Smith; 15 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Register was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Register; and son, LaRue Register.

Pallbearers will be her great-grandsons, Chaston Coon, Ian Seamans, Kalin Seamans, grandsons-in-law, Randy Seamans, Patrick Smith, and nephew, Larry Green.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
