John Henderson

John Henderson, Jr., 80, of Lufkin died Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Carroway Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be held in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Henderson was born December 11, 1931 in the Keltys Community, Lufkin, Texas to John, Sr. and Dorothy Nell (Wood) Henderson. He resided in Lufkin most of his life, and had also resided in Kerrville. He graduated from Lufkin High School and the Culver Military Academy in Culver, Indiana. Mr. Henderson was also a graduate of the University of Texas. He was the President and CEO of Home Savings and Loan for many years. After retirement he enjoyed ranching in the Hill Country. Mr. Henderson was a member of St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Henderson of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Chip and Debra Henderson of San Antonio, Dave Henderson, Mark and Amy Henderson, all of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and Robert Parrott of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Christy and Everett Johnson of Huntington; grandchildren, Keith, Karen, Rebecca, Matthew, Misty, Katie, Caroline, Ryan, Mark, Megan, Lauren, Stephen, Kevin, Christopher, John Michael, Luke, Laura, John Dee, Anna Claire and Brook; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kylea, Rhett, Ashley and Payton; sister and brother-in-law, Sistie and Henry Stollenwerck of Dallas; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy Henderson; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Hazel Redditt.
