Jimmy Griffith

Memorial services for Jimmy Griffith, 57, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. Walter Futch officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Griffith was born July 13, 1954 in Lufkin, Texas to Rachel (Segrest) and James L. Griffith, and died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at his residence. He lived and worked in Baytown for 25 years, and returned to Lufkin in 2002.

Mr. Griffith was an avid reader and also enjoyed fishing. He was a loving son, father, brother and uncle, and was especially enamored by his two grandsons. Mr. Griffith was sensitive to the needs of others and would always offer a smile and a hug.

Survivors include his son, Trey Griffith of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Justin Griffith and Laura Jeffers of Baytown; grandchildren, Jayden Perkins and Ryland Griffith of Baytown; mother and stepfather, Rachel and Brandon Spruell of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Dawn and Mike Teal of College Station; and nephews, Taylor and Tanner Teal of College Station.

He was preceded in death by his father, James L. Griffith.
