Ralph Harold Mohler

Ret. Lt. Col. Ralph H. Mohler, 95, died May 12, 2012 at the home of Paula and Lanny Parish in Lufkin, Texas. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home in Lufkin. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Ret. Lt. Col. Mohler was born March 28, 1917 in North Canton, Ohio. After a long and meritorious career in the Army and civil service, he retired in 1982 in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania. Ralph married Lorene Yates in 1986 when he moved to Longview, Texas. He was a member of the Wesley-McCabe Unity Methodist Church in Longview.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lorene Yates Mohler; sons, Greg Mohler, living in Germany, Mark Mohler of Ruston, Virginia, and Scott Mohler of Daniel Island, South Carolina; stepdaughters, Paula Yates Parish of Lufkin, Texas and Jan Yates Downing of Gilmer, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Harriett Mohler.

The family wants to extend loving gratitude to caregivers, Jane Harvill, Paula Bryant and Norman Ruby for the many years of love and attention they gave to Ralph. The family also appreciates the compassion and dedication shown by Dr. Lenin Pinnamaneni.
