Funeral services for Joseph M. ""Joe"" Marsh, 65, of Lufkin will be held Friday, June 1, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Keeney Dickenson officiating. Private graveside services will be held in the Peebles Cemetery in Goodrich.
Mr. Marsh was born December 10, 1946 in Houston, Texas to Beverly (Cox) and Joseph Marlin Marsh, Sr., and died Monday, May 28, 2012 in a Houston hospital.
Mr. Marsh was raised in Shepherd, Texas. He had resided in Lufkin for 36 years. Mr. Marsh retired from Texas Foundries, where he worked as a draftsman for over 35 years. He was a member of the American Rifle Association and the Lufkin Corvette Club. Other than his family, his Corvette was his prized possession. Mr. Marsh was known for his sense of humor and his ability to use it in making the best of things.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dr. Treba Marsh of Lufkin; son, Aaron Marsh and wife Virgie of Crockett; grandchildren, Chelsea, Kaitlyn and Joshua, all of Crockett; brother, Craig Marsh and wife Elizabeth of Splendora; sister, Susan Choate of Shepherd; 2 nieces; 3 great-nieces; and his devoted furry friend, Tyler.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Marlin Marsh; and mother, Beverly (Cox) Marsh.
Pallbearers will be Wally Taake, Alton Phillips, Jared Phillips, Roger Loving and Keith Reeves.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Joseph Marsh Scholarship Fund at First Baptist Church Crockett, 801 East Goliad Avenue, Crockett, Texas 75835, or to a charity of your choice.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
