Funeral services for David A. Carrell, Jr., 54, of Pollok will be held Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 12:00 noon at the Homer United Pentecostal Church with Pastor Ronnie Frankens officiating. Interment will follow in the Fielder Cemetery.
Mr. Carrell was born October 12, 1957 in Lufkin, Texas to D.A. and Elouise (Phillips) Carrell, and died Monday, June 4, 2012 in a local hospital. He was a lifetime resident of Angelina County. Mr. Carrell served in the U.S. Army and owned DC Construction Company. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Carrell of Pollok; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Nora Mettlen, David and Brittany Carrell, all of Central, and Joseph Carrell of Lufkin; daughters and son-in-law, Laura and Scott Stancomb of North Port, Florida, Elisha Frint and Brandi Carrell, both of Central; nine grandchildren; sisters, Donna Tucker, Judy Carrell, both of Lufkin, and Brenda Horn of Malvern, Arkansas; mother-in-law, Alice Whisenant of Central; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, D.A. and Elouise Carrell; sister-in-law, Charlotte Currie; and nephew, John Crary.
Pallbearers will be Tim Duke, Jack Krenak, Mario Dana, John Stone, Bill Fiedler and Robert Dooley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bubba Loggins, Burt Sparkman and Durwood Sparkman.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Homer United Pentecostal Church Building Fund, 5319 FM 326, Lufkin, Texas 75901.
The family extends their appreciation to Dr. Kyle Krohn and the staff of the Memorial Specialty Unit.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Thursday morning at the Homer United Pentecostal Church.
