Troy L. Johnson

Memorial services for Troy L. Johnson, 68, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel. Masonic rites will be recited under the auspices of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Johnson was born January 24, 1944 in Pitkin, Louisiana to the late Charley ""Boss"" and Dovie (Ware) Johnson, and died Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at his residence. He resided in Lufkin most of his life and was an insurance agent with Farmer's Insurance Co. Mr. Johnson was a Mason with the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M., and a member of the Lufkin Shrine Club.

Troy enjoyed riding his motorcycle and playing golf. Visiting and helping friends brought him great joy. He was passionate about his farm where he raised cattle and other livestock. He took great pride in his peach orchard, giving away the fruits of his labor to friend and stranger alike.

Troy was always available for his family. He was the glue that held everyone together and he will be truly missed.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Robin Johnson of Lufkin; daughter, Kelly King of Lufkin; grandson, Wesley Johnson of Wichita Falls; granddaughters, Jordan Johnson of Lufkin and Amber Whitworth of Diboll; four great-grandchildren; sister, Thelma McKee of Channelview; brothers, Herman Johnson of Onalaska, Milford Johnson of Canyon Lake, Rudolph Johnson of Mount Magazine, Arkansas, Larry Johnson of DeRidder, Louisiana, Roger Johnson of Rosepine, Louisiana, and Alan Johnson of Porter; former wife, Linda Browne of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his brothers, Milton ""Hawk"" Johnson and Joe Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Griffin, Don Lymbery, John Berry, Barney Allen, Glenn Havard, Nester Leamon and Joe Peppard.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 6977 Main Street, Houston, Texas 77030.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the funeral home.
