Funeral services for Edith Mae Jumper, 92, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bryan Lipscomb officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery.
Mrs. Jumper was born October 29, 1919 in Pollok, Texas to the late Frank and Mary Ann (Free) Williamson, and died Wednesday, June 27, 2012 in a local nursing home. She was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. Mrs. Jumper was a nurse for Dr. George Thannisch for 22 years. She was a charter member of Providence Baptist Church and attended the Darcus Sunday school class.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Bob and Betty Jumper of Hudson and Philip Jumper of Hudson; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Joe Argue of Houston; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jumper was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene W. Jumper, in 1995.
Pallbearers will be Jack Jumper, Rusty Jumper, Rex Weaver, Chuck Hines, Blake Allen and Jud Martin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Old Union Cemetery Association, 3010 Southwood Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904, or the Providence Baptist Church Building Fund, 4423 Ted Trout Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
