Funeral services for Ed Bounds, Jr., 83, of Diboll will be held Sunday, July 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Roy Hall and Brother William Havard officiating. Interment will follow in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Bounds was born August 4, 1928 in Apple Springs, Texas to the late Earnest Eli and Ollie (Williams) Bounds, and died Thursday, July 19, 2012 in a local nursing home.
Mr. Bounds was a lifetime resident of Diboll and retired from Temple Inland. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and M.L. Cruseturner of Lufkin, Joyce Ashton of Lufkin and Susan and Richard Keesee of Alvin; sons and daughters-in-law, Carlton Ray and Debbie Bounds, Jerry Lynn and Dana Bounds, James Edward Bounds, and Raymond Wayne and Paula Bounds, all of Diboll; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bounds was preceded in death by his wife, Corine Bounds; grandson, Joshua Bounds; son-in-law, J.L. Ashton; one brother; and one sister.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Bounds, Brian Bounds, Jeremy Bounds, Jeffrey Bounds, Steve ""Speedy"" Bounds and Scott Cox.
Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Bounds and Leroy Smith.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. Jansen Todd and the nursing staffs at Parkwood Place Nursing home and Hospice in the Pines.
