Eddy O. Roberts

Funeral services for Brother Eddy O. Roberts, Sr., 77, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jacob Fitzgerald and Brother Frank Young officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Oddfellows Cemetery.

Bro. Roberts was born October 12, 1934 in Cass County, Texas to the late Riley Martin and Anna Pearl (Fowler) Roberts, and died Wednesday, July 25, 2012 in a local hospital. He resided in Angelina County most of his life. He pastored numerous churches in Houston and Angelina Counties, most recently at Harvest Baptist Church, where he was also a member.

""Bro. Eddy"" was a mentor and confidant for many of his Christian brothers and sisters. He loved life and lived each day to the best of his ability, hoping to share Christ with anyone and everyone. He enjoyed fishing and camping, loved coconut pie, and had many fish fries for his friends.

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Deborah Roberts of Huntington and Rita and Dan Santos of Mesquite; son and daughter-in-law, Edward, Jr. ""Skip"" and Sharron Roberts of Princeton; grandchildren, Jason and Stefani Santos; wife, Uintia ""Lou"" Roberts of Lufkin; brother and sister -in-law, Andy and Shirley Chatham of Broaddus; sister, Barbara Rudy of Marysville, California; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Charles Herrington of Lufkin; stepson and daughter-in-law, Byron and Cathy Barge of Fannett; step-grandchildren, Jessica and David Barnett, Michael, Kristen and Madison Herrington, Dyllon, Chase and Kaiden Barge; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wesley and Bonnie Graham of Huntington; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Bro. Roberts was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years and mother of his children, Shirley Roberts; and one sister.

Pallbearers will be Roland Grissett, Byron Barge, Michael Graham, Scott Graham, Jason Santos and Colton Cramer.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Ainsworth, Billy Page, Oval Terry, Bill Lumpkin and Bob Cramer.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
