Nancy Smith Henderson

Funeral services for Nancy Smith Henderson, 62, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jimmy Thornton officiating. Interment will follow in the Narroway Cemetery.

Mrs. Henderson was born February 26, 1950 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Henry Thomas and Lucy Fay (Bridges) Smith, and died Wednesday, August 1, 2012 in a local hospital. She was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and a member of the Allen Gin Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Lane Adams of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Marisa Smelley of Garrison; grandsons, Cason Adams and Trevor Adams, both of Lufkin; granddaughters, Reanna Smelley and Ashlyn Smelley, both of Garrison; special niece, Tracy Parrish of Lufkin; sister, Ann Denum of Lufkin; brothers, Ray Thornton, Jimmy Thornton, both of Lufkin, and Joe Thornton of Carrizozo, New Mexico; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Henderson; and brother, Kenneth Thornton.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Henson, Barry Brown, James Holmes, Cason Adams, Trevor Adams and Regan Parrish.
