Funeral services for Annie Beth Clayton, 73, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Lufkin's First Baptist Church with Dr. Andrew G. Pittman officiating. Committal services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Conner Cemetery in Houston County with Reverend Jim Tom Ainsworth officiating.

Mrs. Clayton passed from this world peacefully at her home in Lufkin surrounded by her loving family Sunday, August 5, 2012. She was born March 29, 1939 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Bernard Lynn ""Pat"" and Corrie (Conner) Kilpatrick.

Mrs. Clayton graduated from Lufkin High School and Baylor University with a B.S. in 1961. She was a member of both the Phi Kappa Phi and Delta Kappa Gamma Societies. Mrs. Clayton was a member of Lufkin's First Baptist Church and devoted her service to many community programs wherever she lived, most recently with the Red Cross of East Texas.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Kendall Clayton of Lufkin; son, David K. Clayton of Houston; daughter, Lisa Clayton Boyer and husband Joe of St. Louis, Missouri; son, John Mark Clayton and wife Kelly of Dallas; grandchildren, Marissa McWilliams of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Cole McWilliams O.S.S.N. U.S. Navy, Japan, and Henry and Katie Clayton of Dallas; sister and brother-in-law, Lynette and Robert Solomon of Nacogdoches; niece, Carol Solomon Foster and husband Dave of San Ramon, California; nephew, Jim Solomon and wife Robin of Granbury; and many wonderful and loving ""country cousins"" and friends.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to their Mother's caregivers and to Hospice in the Pines.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 West Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904 or Lufkin's First Baptist Church, 106 East Bremond Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75901.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
